SMT. KAMLA KEWAL KRISHAN BAKSHI

Smt. Kamla Kewal Krishan Bakshi (Chhibber) wife of the late Flying Officer Kewal Krishan Bakshi (Chhibber), left for her heavenly abode on the 22nd Dec., 2007 in Mumbai (Andheri West), at the age of 75 years. Ironically, her beloved husband also had passed away on the same date (22nd Dec., 1997). The “Uthala Ceremony’’ was performed on the 25th Dec., 07 at Arya Samaj Mandir, Santarcruz, Mumbai.

She was the daughter of the late Sh. Saligram Mohan of Pind Dadan Khan and daughter-in-law of the late Bk. Prakash Ram Chhibber of Sialkot.

She did Hindi Honours (Prabhakar) from the Punjab University. She was an avid reader and used to write for the leading Hindi Magazine “Dharamyug’’. She used to broadcast for All India Radio, way back in 1955. She had also translated a novel “Sindhur Ki Rakh’’ written by Sh. Kashmiri Lal Zakir, from Urdu to Hindi.

Smt. Kamla Kewal Krishan Bakshi was a very humble and pious lady. She is survived by her only son & daughter-in-law, four daughters & sons-in-law, grand children and a great grand daughter.

On this sad occasion, her son Sh. Sunil Kewal Krishan Bakshi has donated Rs.1,000/- to the GMS Widow Fund.–Sunil K. Bakshi, 603, Taj Apartments, Azad Lane, Off S.V. Road, Andheri West Mumbai-400 058.
