youthful as ever

Ch. S.N. Dutta, the grand octogenarian, enters his 83rd Birthday on 15th August, 2008.

As MES President he has infused new life in the body and given the school a commendable boost.

We wish Datta Sahib long, healthy life in the service of the community.

“I am proud to be a mohyal’’

Mohyals are a symbol of bravery and hard work. Being the children of ‘Saptarishis’, they have all the characteristics of their forefathers. They are not just a community but the name itself describes what they are

M    =        Mastermind

O     =        Outstanding

H     =      Honest

Y     =        Youthfulness

A     =        Affectionate

L     =      Loyal

Mohyals are a combination of Bali, Bhimwal, Chhibber, Dutta, Lau, Mohan and Vaid. Since the beginning, this community has given great citizens to our country.

Mohyals have reached the heights of success in every sphere of life, by following the direction shown by their ancestors and by making new ways on their own abilities, honesty and hard work. They are not only following these principles themselves, but are putting their best to give these beautiful aspects of life to their children also.

General Mohyal Sabha and all other regional sabhas are doing excellent work in promoting the welfare of not only Mohyals but the whole society. It is taking many steps towards eradicating the evils of society like female infanticide etc. which are a curse to our society.

The most appreciable step in maintaining the past, present and future of Mohyals is ‘Mohyal History’ by Mr. P. N. Bali. This is not only a book but a living legend. It tells us everything about the great Mohyals and their deeds and what we are.

Mohyal Mitter is another shining star, which makes us aware of what is happening in our community. This is an inspiration for us and helps us to move forward and keep pace with this running world.

My knowledge is not very precise but one thing I can say with my head held high that ‘I am proud to be a Mohyal’.—Akanksha Mehta, #100, Patel Nagar, Yamuna Nagar (Haryana).

letter of appreciation

The CEO/Director

MERIT

A-9, USO Road,

Qutub Institutional Area,

New Delhi-110067.

Respected Dr. Rattan Datta Sir,

“I WANT TO START THIS LETTER OFF BY saying:

Thank you,

www.mohyal.com”

I am writing this letter to express my sincere thanks for forwarding my Resume to M/s. Systopic Pharma-ceutical Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi.

I recently posted my Resume on the www.mohyal.com site.

I am Graduate in Micro Biology from Jai Hind College, Mumbai and had stood first in my College in MSc Final (Bio Tech). My academic records had always been above average.

Although, I was curious to enter Corporate world, I could not get any opportunity and had to restrict my job to teaching Bio Tech Subjects to BSC students as a Lecturer  in a college. Most of my Class fellows  had got reasonably good jobs in Government and Private Sector in spite of the fact that they were average students.

I must say that after I submitted my Resume in Mohyal Website my dreams have turned into reality. I received an interview call from M/s. Systopic Pharma-ceutical Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi for the post of Product Manager and have been selected by the Company for their New Delhi Office.

Sir, Your website and efforts have motivated me more than I can express.

In fact, this is the first time that I have ever been moved to send a letter like this and you have encouraged me to           “be all that I can be.”

I hope that more young professionals like me have been able to read my letter.

This opportunity has truly changed my life for the better.

Sir, Thank you for being a pillar of strength in the Mohyal Community.

We are proud of the level of service provided to us by MERIT headed by you and www.mohyal.com

With Warm Regards,

Dr. ASHOK LAV HONOURED WITH WORLD MEDAL OF FREEDOM

Dear Mr. Lav,

I am happy to unveil your nomination for an impacting and significant honor.

During my Presidential tenure at the American Biographical Institute–perhaps the finest institution of its kind–I have enjoyed the honor of recognizing remarkable individuals and their achievements. In some ways, however, the bestowal of the World Medal of Freedom seems one of my most important duties.

In the present day we need constant reminders of good and wholesome individuals who are characterized by their exceptional deeds–both to their immediate spheres of influence and to society as a whole. The World Medal of Freedom will be offered to a short-list selection of men and women internationally, who act as the very fiber of society by binding us together in progression and dedication. Men and women whose daily lives remind us that good deeds prevail; that we can indeed strive for freedom. Mr. Lav, you are a recognized and significant part of that. I thank and congratulate you.

After scrutinizing the archives and records of the Institute, which contain over two-million biographical entries, I have personally selected the worthiest candidates for this honor. Significant contributions to society and life have been my primary points of reference, though I have considered dedication on its many levels.

The medal itself is two-inches in diameter and stamped from one solid piece of metal using a singularly crafted die. The die, created by a renowned medal-artisan, ensures a quality second to none. It must be stated that only 50 of the World Medal of Freedom will be struck in succession for this year. Obviously this places your selection in extremely high regard. The medal is finished in a radiant gold tone and will be deeply etched on the reverse with your name and year of selection. To finish this beautiful and striking presentation the medal will be completed with a fine neck ribbon and presentation case. You can see an image of this powerful accolade on the reverse of this document.

To further emphasize your selection, you will receive an 8-1/2   by 11 inch certificate printed in two colors on fine, parchment-style paper and personalized with your name, and chosen citation denoting your sphere of influence, before being signed and sealed by myself and the ABI Registrar.

Mr. Lav, on behalf of the ABI I congratulate you on this nomination and do so hope you will accept this distinction, which I consider to be one of the most important of my career. I look forward to honoring your accomplishments, which I firmly believe make the world a better place.

I want you to be a figurehead of peace, freedom, and hope for the world as a whole. Please be so by accepting the World Medal of Freedom– a distinction you truly deserve.

His voluntary work ranges from being a trustee of Derby’s multi-faith centre to sitting on regional government and council committees.

And his hard work has earned him a nomination for a Community Champions Award.

Whether he is organising educational sessions for school children or discussing community problems at the East Midlands Regional Assembly, his aim is for people to understand each other better.

And when he is not looking after the community, Mr. Bali is taking care of his wife, Shanti, who has kidney failure.

A practising Hindu, Mr. Bali said an hour of meditation each morning helped to prepare his mind for the day ahead.

He said: “There’s something in me that’s spiritual. I’m not after money. Something inside drives me to do this for the sake of communities and, I suppose, for the sake of humanity.’’

Mr. Bali was born in India and met his wife there while she was on holiday from her home in Kenya. They married and moved to Kenya, where they lived for 16 years before coming to England in 1974.

Although he trained as an English and history teacher, Mr. Bali worked in the finance department at International Combustion until he retired in 1991.

Always a committed volunteer, he stepped up his efforts following his retirement.

He said perhaps his proudest achievement was helping to found the Multi-Faith Centre, in Kedleston Road, of which he is a trustee.

Originally Intended for students of different faiths to meet, the centre opened in 2002 and is widely used by the public.

He said: “It was a very big project–it cost £2m–and when we accomplished that I felt we’d really done something.’’

Mr. Bali is director of the Open Centre, in Pear Tree Road, Normanton, of which he was a founding member in the 1980s. As well as holding a monthly lunch club, the centre hosts Indian dance classes and educational visits for school children.

He was nominated for a Community Champions Award by Janine Shrigley, of the Open Centre. The awards recognise people who have gone the extra mile to help others and will culminate in a prize-giving ceremony for 12 winners at Pride Park on Sunday, May 18.

Mrs. Shrigley said: “He’s a wonderful man who has dedicated himself to the whole community of Derby, working tirelessly to build understanding and good relations between different faiths and cultures.’’

Chief Constable’s Special Award for Raj Bali

When Derbyshire Chief Constable Mick Creedon decided to reward someone who had helped bring the community together, he needed to look no further than Raj Bali.

The 72-year old’s commitment to encouraging different faith groups to understand each other won him the Chief Constable’s Special Award.

temple to parasurama

–Tapasi Baba

There is a rare temple dedicated to Parasurama at Parasurampuri (as recently named by residents) P.O. Jalalabad, Distt. Shahjahanpur, U.P.-242221. The town has a population of about 15,000. There is a tank near the temple called Parasuram-ka-tal or merely Ramtala. The town has also a lake called Jidjini (Jamdagni Jheel). The town is about five km away from Ram Ganga, which is the short form of Parasuram Ganga. This river is said to have been brought from the Himalayas by Parasurama in the same way as the Ganges by Bhagiratha. The Ganges is about 20 km from Jalalabad. The Ramganga and the Ganges meet at Kannauj which may be just about 30-40 km from Jalalabad as the crow flies. Kannauj was the Asrama of Richika Muni, father of Jamdagni and grandfather of Parasurama. Jalalabad was supposed to be the Kreedaabhumi of Bhagwan Parasurama. Jalalabad is my birth place and home town.
