Welcome 2010. May this year bring prosperity all around and I wish all to enjoy good health and the best of day-to-day life all through the year and even thereafter.
Our Gurudev says “ The year is never new. Time is a continuous flow. Yet in TIME, each one of us can renew ourselves. In us New Year arrives only when you RENEW yourself. Let us give up all manners and habits of thinking small. Let us fully surrender to HIM, who is All. Let us think BIG, rise above the ripples created by the tragic in others. In our love & large-heartedness, let us forgive all others and keep them in our care & concern. That would be a HAPPY NEW YEAR.”
I am sorry to write that we lost a gem of a person in Col. Balraj Chhibbar, who left for heavenly abode on the 9th of January 2010. A very warm-hearted person & devoted Mohyal. May his soul rest in peace and we pray to God Almighty to give strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
GMS has come up very well to meet the aspirations of the Biradari with the sustained co-operation of all. Such mutual co-operation was in full view when the GMS organized the 4th Grand Matrimonial Mela and the 5th Mohyal Diwas Celebrations in December last year. The Matrimonial Mela was a grand success, thanks to the untiring efforts of the GMS and its Matrimonial Committee, with the co-operation of the local sabhas and all members of the Biradari. The 5th Mohyal Diwas Celebration was another milestone in the sustained co-operation between the GMS and the local sabhas. Mohyal Sabha Faridabad, deserves kudos for helping the GMS in organizing this function and making all arrangements for the successful and trouble-free celebration of the Day, in which about 1000 Mohyals from all over participated.
I feel we should do something now to attract the next generation – the youth and the children. I find youngsters do not take any interest in the Mohyal Mitter. The readership of youngsters is very important to bring them into the mainstream of the Biradari. The parents have to play an important role, particularly the mothers.
Kids are smart, ambitious and raring to go! Ably encouraged by the parents, these extrovert kids have got the right mix of courage & determination. Mothers have to spend quality time by focusing on every aspect of their children’s lives, whether it is their kids’ attire, the games they play or the training they undergo.
We should bring out their outstanding success stories to light by sending news in MM. Mohyal sabhas should hold Bal Melas, instead of Melas. Sports, dances, songs etc. should form part of such Bal Melas; there should be healthy competition amongst the children in all these. Prizes and awards should be given to the winners and their photographs published in Mohyal Mitter, along with the proceedings of such Bal Melas. Ladies and children should take active part in managing and organizing these Bal Melas.
Children should be encouraged to send articles, short stories, poems, jokes, quizzes etc. (in Hindi or English) for publication in the section set apart in the Mohyal Mitter for the youth (Youth Forum). There could also be a Pen Pal corner in the Youth Forum Section in MM in which pen-friendship between the Mohyal children with similar tastes and interests could be developed.
As Editor of Mohyal Mitter, I solicit your comments and suggestions to further improve your magazine in whichever way you think, so that it evolves into a truly people’s (Mohyals’) magazine, in the truest way.
Jai Mohyal!
